Common use of Bid Validity Clause in Contracts

Bid Validity. i) The bid shall be valid for a period of 150 days from the date of opening of Tender. ii) In exceptional circumstances, the purchaser may request the consent of the bidder for an extension to the period of bid validity. The request and the responses thereto shall be made in writing. The bid security provided under clause 9 shall also be suitably extended. A bidder may refuse the request without forfeiting his bid security. A bidder accepting the request and granting extension will not be permitted to modify his bid.
