Board of Directors transition. 17.1.1 The transition of WECC governance from a hybrid Board to an independent Board of Directors will be effective upon the effective date of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval of Section 6.1 establishing an independent Board (“Effective Date”). The non-affiliated directors of WECC, whose terms extend past the Effective Date, so willing to continue to serve, shall form part of the initial cadre of independent Directors. These continuing Directors shall be entitled to serve the remainder of their respective three-year terms of office.
