Bumping Into Bargaining Unit Clause Samples
The "Bumping Into Bargaining Unit" clause defines the process by which employees who are displaced from their positions, often due to layoffs or restructuring, may move into roles within the bargaining unit if they meet certain qualifications. Typically, this clause outlines the criteria for eligibility, such as seniority and relevant experience, and the order in which employees may exercise their bumping rights. Its core function is to protect employees' job security by providing a structured method for reassignment, thereby minimizing involuntary terminations and ensuring fair treatment during workforce reductions.
