Cash In-Lieu Health Benefits. 4.1.14.1 New employees hired after January 1, 2001 are ineligible for cash in lieu. 4.1.14.2 For unit members hired prior to January 1, 2001 and eligible for cash in lieu, the maximum annual cash in lieu amount is $3,550 (prorated if less than full time) if the unit member does not elect any health and welfare benefits.
