CENTRAL AFRICAN Sample Clauses

CENTRAL AFRICAN. REPUBLIC (CAR)
CENTRAL AFRICAN. REPUBLIC 1. Can you please share any success stories in the process of your preparation of and notification of indicative and definitive dates to avail yourself of the use of Section II Special and Differential Treatment? Did you face any challenges or difficulties? Were those difficulties resolved? RESPONSE 1: The difficulties faced relate to the absence, inaccessibility, inadequacy or lack of information on all aspects of the Trade Facilitation Agreement. The private sector is often under-informed, or not informed at all, about the regulations and legislation in force. Regulatory and legislative texts in some sectors are mostly outdated and the information system is inefficient. The Central African Republic (CAR) is facing a challenge related to the capacity of the National Trade Facilitation Committee. In order to address this, the Government plans to: - Create a permanent technical secretariat to facilitate both the coordination and implementation of the TFA provisions and to make it more efficient by appointing certain people to the committee; - Revise existing legislation that is not in line with the Agreement; - Implement the TF strategy; - Strengthen staff capacity through technical training, exploring information transmission channels, designing specific training programmes, and providing communications materials and equipment and appropriate equipment and vehicles. 2. Did you receive support to prepare your notifications? Was the support helpful? 3. What provisions of the Agreement have been easier for you to implement so far? Please explain why.
