Chair of the Commission. The Chair of the Commission shall be Colombian, and shall be elected by mutual agreement between the National Government and the FARC-EP by means of an agreed mechanism. The Chair of the Commission shall be its primary public spokesperson, who will coordinate the work of the commissioners, facilitate its proper internal operation, and direct its tasks, preferably seeking consensus in the internal decision-making process. The role of the Chair of the Commission is important because he/she will be both a national and international figurehead.
