Common use of Changes in Building and Fire Codes Clause in Contracts

Changes in Building and Fire Codes. Notwithstanding any provision of this Agreement to the contrary, development of the Project shall be subject to changes which may occur from time to time in the California Building Code and other uniform construction codes. In addition, development of the Project shall be subject to any changes occurring from time to time in the Los Angeles Municipal Code regarding the construction, engineering and design standards for both public and private improvements provided that these changes are (1) necessary to the health and safety of the residents of the City, and (2) are generally applicable on a Citywide basis (except in the event of natural disasters as found by the Mayor or City Council, such as floods, earthquakes and similar disasters).
