Changing Hiring Rate. (1) To raise the hiring rate for one (1) or more classes. In such event the next higher numbered step shall be the new end of probation (EOP) rate. Original probationers shall be placed at the new minimum, (unless previously hired into range at a step greater than the new EOP) without affecting their step dates. Non-probationary employees below this new EOP rate in the affected class shall be placed on the new EOP rate. Non-Probationary employees in the class who are on steps at or above the new EOP rate shall receive a one (1) step increase. Step dates will be adjusted according to salary plan rules.
(2) Employees at or above the maximum will have their hourly rates increased by an amount equivalent to the same percentage as from Step 14 to 15 of the relevant pay grade for the class(es), subject to the approval of the Secretary of Administration as required by Title 3, V.S.A. 310 (h).
(3) Any raising of the hiring rate for a class under this provision shall not be deemed inconsistent with the provisions of paragraph 15.
