Common use of Civil Amenities Clause in Contracts

Civil Amenities. 21.2.1 The Concessionaire shall during the entire term of the Concession Period, in addition to the infrastructure required to be developed, operated and maintained by it under this Agreement, provide and maintain amenities, in adequate numbers and of a quality equivalent to that of the Project Facilities, for common use by the Users of the Project. These shall include drinking water facilities, sanitation facilities, toilets, telephone and communication facilities. 21.2.2 The Concessionaire shall, during the entire term of the Concession Period, provide and procure, a safe, convenient, comfortable, efficient, cheap and environmental friendly all-weather transport system for Users within the Leased Premises, interconnecting all parts of the Site. The Concessionaire shall endeavour to develop and maintain the aforesaid transport system using the latest innovations in the field of low cost, economical, sustainable, energy efficient, new and non-conventional energy based environmental friendly technology, suited to the local conditions. 21.2.3 The Concessionaire shall, during the entire term of the Concession Period, provide and procure hygienic and safe low-cost eateries and canteens, serving nutritious and healthy food, in adequate numbers and of a quality commensurate with the Project, specially for serving the needs of the low paid employees/support staff of the Concessionaire, the Concessionaire’s contractors and their sub- contractors and the other Users of the Project. 21.2.4 The provision of the various amenities in 21.2.2 and 21.2.3 is with the object of specifically addressing the requirements of the low income groups that render various services in projects such as the Project envisaged under this Agreement, but whose own infrastructure needs have historically been inadequately serviced or under-serviced in urban planning and development projects. The Authority and the Concessionaire agree that the guiding development philosophy for this Project is of inclusive, holistic, sustainable and equitable development.
