Clinical Instructors. The title Clinical Instructor is a non-progressive rank assigned to faculty who do not have a terminal degree or who are not engaged in nursing scholarship and/or who are appointed at less than 50% FTE. 21.2. 4C Areas of Responsibility & Basis of Evaluation for Clinical Instructors. All Clinical Instructors are expected to be active and to be evaluated for reappointment primarily in two areas of faculty responsibility: teaching and limited service, which are defined as follows: • Teaching encompasses but is not limited to clinical, laboratory, classroom, and online teaching, using various instructional and assessment methods; contributions to course and program curricula and methods. • Service shall be limited to participation in no more than one College of Nursing committee per academic year and college retreat days.
