Common use of Code Inspections Clause in Contracts

Code Inspections. All projects require detailed code compliance inspections during construction in disciplines determined by the Permitting Authority. These disciplines normally include, but are not necessarily limited to, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and general building safety. Inspection personnel will be provided by the Permitting Authority. Names, addresses and phone numbers of the inspectors will be provided to the Construction Manager by the Permitting Authority. The Construction Manager shall request the appropriate inspector(s), no less than 48 hours in advance, that the work is ready for inspection and before the work is covered up. Work not inspected and approved prior to cover-up shall be uncovered for inspection when directed by the Permitting Authority. All costs for uncovering and reconstruction shall be borne by the Construction Manager. All inspections shall be made for conformance with the applicable building codes, compliance with drawings and specifications, and quality. Cost for all re-inspections of Work found defective and subsequently repaired shall be borne by the Construction Manager.
