Common use of College, Academic Unit, and Regional Campus Handbook Sections Clause in Contracts

College, Academic Unit, and Regional Campus Handbook Sections. 1. By the end of the semester following completion of the university-wide Faculty Handbook, each College with Departments and Schools will revise, as needed, and submit its section of the Faculty Handbook. The College with Departments and Schools sections of the Faculty Handbook shall include only those items specific to the College which concern the terms and conditions of employment of Faculty members in the College. 2. By the end of the semester following completion of the university-wide Faculty Handbook, each Department/School will submit language from the Department/School Handbook currently in effect as its section of the university-wide Faculty Handbook. a. The section of the Faculty Handbook from a Department/School shall be organized into the following sub-sections: i. Matters of Department/School Governance and related procedures; ii. Teaching assignments and workload including workload equivalencies and related procedures; iii. Reappointment, tenure and promotion criteria and the criteria and processes relating to other faculty personnel actions; iv. Criteria, performance expectations, and Department/School procedures relating to Faculty Excellence Awards; v. Other Department/School guidelines. b. The parties to this Agreement recognize that provisions contained in subsection v. are not subject to the grievance and appeals procedure contained in Article VII of this Agreement. In the event that a Faculty member believes that an administrator is not complying with a provision of sub-section v., that Faculty member can request that the matter be reviewed by the College CAC. c. The FAC of the Department/School, following consultation with the Department/School Chair, will make the initial determination concerning which language from the handbook currently in effect is to be included in each of the sub-sections listed above. By the end of the semester following the submission of the Department/School section of the Faculty Handbook, the Office of the Xxxxxxx can question the appropriateness of a particular provision for inclusion in subsections i., ii., iii., or iv. If the Department/School FAC, the Department/School Chair, and the Office of the Xxxxxxx cannot come to agreement on the provisions in dispute, the matter will be heard by a subcommittee of three (3) Faculty members and two (2) administrators from the university-wide handbook committee established above in 7.C. and chosen by the committee which will make a final determination on the provisions in dispute. The Department/School FAC and the Office of the Xxxxxxx will have equal opportunity to present their respective positions before the subcommittee renders a final determination. 3. Matters of academic unit Governance and related procedures; ii. Teaching assignments and workload including workload equivalencies and related procedures; iii. Reappointment, tenure and promotion criteria and the criteria and processes relating to other faculty personnel actions; iv. Criteria, performance expectations, and academic unit procedures relating to Faculty Excellence Awards; v. Other academic unit guidelines. b. The parties to this Agreement recognize that provisions contained in subsection v. are not subject to the grievance and appeals procedure contained in Article VII of this Agreement. Criteria, performance expectations, and Regional Campus procedures relating to Faculty Excellence Awards; v. Other Regional Campus guidelines. b. The parties to this Agreement recognize that provisions contained in subsection v. are not subject to the grievance and appeals procedure contained in Article VII of this Agreement.
