Faculty Handbook. Each University, under the direction of its President, shall prepare, publish and distribute to full-time faculty, and make available to part-time faculty upon request, a faculty handbook consistent with provisions of this Agreement which shall contain at least:
(A) Procedures detailing the channels of communication and decision-making among individuals, departments, committees and governing bodies.
(B) A complete and up-to-date copy of the Senate bylaws and bylaws of other university bodies.
Faculty Handbook. To facilitate a collegial workplace environment, and to support chairs and coordinators, a Faculty Handbook has been developed. The Handbook will be updated periodically by a sub-committee of the Labour Management Relations Committee.
Faculty Handbook. A committee jointly comprised of Federation, Academic Senate and District representatives will be established and determine the content of the faculty handbook. This will be finalized within six (6) months following ratification of this Agreement. This handbook will be maintained on-line by the Human Resources Office.
Faculty Handbook. A. The University and the Association agree that a well-designed, easily-accessible and informative Faculty Handbook is important to the Faculty and to the academic mission of the University. The University and the Association also agree that the Faculty Handbook should facilitate the consistent implementation of University Policies and Procedures while also taking into consideration issues and processes that are unique to Departments, Schools and their Colleges, Colleges without departments and schools, University Libraries and the Regional Campuses. The University and the Association further agree that the implementation of a university-wide Faculty Handbook is best carried out through the process of shared governance.
B. There is currently in effect a university-wide Faculty Handbook that has been developed to ensure the consistent implementation and application of University Policies and Procedures. This university-wide Faculty Handbook includes information about University Policies and Procedures which concern the terms and conditions of employment of all Faculty members.
C. The university-wide Faculty Handbook, and any of the sections referenced below, will be maintained by the University on the Faculty Affairs website. The University will annually provide information on the Faculty Handbook’s electronic location to all Faculty members and the Association.
D. The university-wide Faculty Handbook and any College, academic unit, and Regional Campus sections thereof will be the only official Faculty Handbook.
E. Colleges with Departments and/or Schools Handbook Sections.
1. The College with Departments and/or Schools sections of the Faculty Handbook shall include only those items specific to the College which concern the terms and conditions of employment of Faculty members in the College.
2. The section of the Faculty Handbook from a Department/School shall be organized into the following sub-sections:
a. Matters of Department/School Governance and related procedures;
b. Teaching assignments and workload including workload equivalencies and related procedures;
c. Reappointment, tenure and promotion criteria and the criteria and processes relating to other faculty personnel actions;
d. Criteria, performance expectations, and Department/School procedures relating to Merit Awards as referenced in Article XII, Section 4 of this Agreement;
Faculty Handbook. The Faculty Handbook’s purpose is to describe the procedures administering faculty professional activities at Xxxxxx College. A Faculty Handbook Committee consisting of 3 faculty members appointed by the Faculty Senate President and 3 Administrators appointed by the Xxxxxxx shall regularly update the Faculty Handbook as necessary. All changes to the Faculty Handbook must be approved by the Xxxxxxx and presented to the Faculty Senate before taking effect.
Faculty Handbook. The faculty handbook will not be revised without contract negotiation and bargaining through the Education Excellence Council (EEC) or discussion/approval through EEC.
Faculty Handbook. A committee jointly comprised of Federation, Academic Senate and District representatives has been established to determine the content of the faculty handbook. This handbook will be maintained on-line and updated from time to time by the office of Professional Development and Learning.
Faculty Handbook. Section 1. The University shall maintain a Faculty Handbook which shall be complete, 4 up-to-date, and accessible to all bargaining unit faculty members as an online resource 5 available on the Academic Affairs website. A hardcopy of the Faculty Handbook as 6 posted on the website shall be made available to bargaining unit faculty members in the 7 Office of Academic Affairs and also available for electronic download at the beginning 8 of each academic year.
10 Section 2. The Faculty Handbook shall be a compendium of issues relating to working 11 conditions for faculty at the university with appropriate resources and links to relevant 12 information.
14 Section 3. The Academic Affairs website content associated with the Faculty Handbook 15 will be modified consistent with related policy changes as needed.
17 Section 4. The Academic Affairs Faculty Handbook shall contain a link to the UO Policy 18 Library.
20 Section 5. The Academic Affairs website, including the Faculty Handbook, will be 21 archived electronically on an annual basis and will be publicly available.
Faculty Handbook. The Faculty Handbook is a resource meant to outline procedures and practices of the institution. The handbook reflects agreed upon expectations and standards.
A. Changes to the Faculty Handbook may happen throughout the academic year for the purpose of maintaining accuracy to existing policies and procedures. Such changes shall be communicated to the faculty through the Academic Council before being made official.
B. The Faculty Handbook shall be updated through joint effort of the Administration, Academic Council, and the Faculty Association. The Academic Procedures and Practices (APP) committee will be responsible for the initial creation and ongoing editing of the Faculty Handbook.
C. A copy of the Faculty Handbook will be posted electronically.
Faculty Handbook. The Faculty Handbook will be available to all educators. Teachers’ Council representatives will be involved in proposed revisions, including additions or deletions, to the Faculty Handbook. The Faculty Handbook will be updated annually and posted online by the first day of orientation each school year.
