COMBINING CLASSES. When a teacher is absent for any reason, every attempt shall be made to hire a substitute. In the event a substitute cannot be hired and a teacher is required to supervise more than five (5) students who are not members of his/her class, he/she shall be compensated at the same rate of compensation as for covering a class during his/her preparation period.
