Common use of ’ Compensation Insurance Clause in Contracts

’ Compensation Insurance. To the extent required by law, the Contractor must be self-insured against, or must secure and maintain during the life of the contract, Worker’s Compensation Insurance for all its employees connected with the work of this project, and in case any work is subcontracted, the Contractor must require the subcontractor similarly to provide Worker’s Compensation Insurance for all of the latter’s employees unless such employees engaged in work under the resulting contract are covered by the Contractor’s insurance program. Self-insurance or insurance coverage must comply with the Florida Worker’s Compensation law. In the event hazardous work is being performed by the Contractor under the resulting contract or purchase order and any class of employees performing the hazardous work is not protected under Worker’s Compensation statutes, the Contractor must provide, and cause each subcontractor to provide adequate insurance satisfactory to the Department for the protection of employees not otherwise protected.
