Common use of Competitive Franchises Clause in Contracts

Competitive Franchises. So long as the Bond is Outstanding the City obligates itself not to grant a franchise to any utility for operation within the boundaries of the City which would render services or facilities in competition with the System, and also obligates itself to oppose the granting of any such franchise by any other public body having jurisdiction over such matters. Further, the City shall maintain its corporate identity and existence so long as the Bond remains outstanding.‌
