Common use of Compliance with the Apprenticeship Act Clause in Contracts

Compliance with the Apprenticeship Act. The Contractor agrees to comply with the requirements of the Apprenticeship Act of 1946, D.C. Code §§ 36-401, et seq. It is understood and agreed that thirty five percent (35%) of all apprentice hours the Project must be District residents. If the Builder or any of its subcontractors fail to use its best efforts to meet this goal, the Builder or the subcontractor shall be subject to a penalty of five percent (5%) of the labor costs associated with the Contract.
