Confirmatory Testing Laboratory. The confirmatory testing laboratory shall be a SAMHSA laboratory, which complies with the scientific and technical guidelines for federal drug testing programs and the standards for certification of laboratories engaged in urine drug testing for federal agencies issued by the alcohol, drug abuse and mental health administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The CITY and the IAFF Local No. 1348 agree that the Pathologists Associated Medical Laboratories and the Health South Medical Clinics have contracted with such laboratories. The parties hereto may mutually agree from time to time to other SAMHSA laboratories as a confirmatory testing laboratory.
Confirmatory Testing Laboratory. (1) The confirmatory testing laboratory shall confirm initial positive results using gas chromatography/ mass spectrometry (GCMS) techniques. The confirmatory testing is considered negative if it does not show at least these concentrations of drugs or metabolites: Marijuana metabolites 1 15 ng/ml Cocaine metabolites2 150 ng/ml Opiates: 1 - Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol - 9 - carboxylic acid 2 -BenzoyLecgonlne
(2) Whether the confirmatory test is positive or negative, said result shall be communicated to the medical review officer.
Confirmatory Testing Laboratory. 1. The confirmatory testing laboratory shall confirm initial non-negative results using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GCMS) techniques. The GCMS cutoff levels are: Marijuana metabolites 15 ng/ml Cocaine metabolites 100 ng/ml Opiates: Morphine 2000 ng/ml Codeine 2000 ng/ml Phencyclidine 25 ng/ml Amphetamines: Amphetamine 250 ng/ml Methamphetamine 250 ng/ml
2. All test results will be sent to the medical review officer.
3. After completing analysis, negative specimens will be destroyed and all non-negative specimens shall have an aliquot frozen and retained for 12 months.
