CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT AND PROMOTION FUND. 17.01 The Employer shall contribute to the Union’s Construction Industry Development and Promotion Fund (the “Industry Fund”) an amount per hour as set out in Schedule “A” for each hour worked by each employee covered by this Agreement and it shall remit such contributions to the Union in the manner prescribed at Article 6.04. 17.02 The Industry Fund is used to promote the CLAC model of open shop unionized construction representation. This is achieved by industry development among owners and purchasers of construction services, by advocating at municipal and provincial government levels, by representing open shop union principles at industry conferences and events and by advising union leaders, including staff and stewards, of opportunities and means to promote the CLAC model. The Industry Fund is used as determined by the union to strengthen the position of the Union, its members and contractors. 17.03 The Industry Fund shall not be used to fund a grievance or other legal proceeding against any contactor signatory to CLAC or its affiliated local unions.
