Contract Not Expiring. In any year when a member’s contract does not expire, a minimum of two (2) formal observations shall be completed, with the first being a formal holistic observation and the second being a formal focused observation on identified focus areas. Each observation shall last a minimum of thirty (30) minutes, which the evaluator shall strive to make continuous minutes. In addition, at least two walkthroughs with an emphasis on identified focus areas (when applicable) shall be completed. Observations shall be preceded by a conference between the evaluator and the member at least one (1) day and not more than five (5) workdays prior to the observation in order for the member to explain lesson plans and objectives for the class which will be observed. A post-observation conference shall be held between the evaluator and the member no longer than five (5) workdays after the formal holistic observation. The post-observation conference after the first observation shall be held on or before December 10th. The second post-observation conference shall be held on or before May 1st. No later than May 10th, a copy of the formal written evaluation report shall be given to the member and a conference shall be held between the member and the evaluator.
