Common use of Contract Suspension Clause in Contracts

Contract Suspension. A teacher whose contract will be suspended because of reduction in force means that a teacher will be placed in an inactive state of employment from an active state of employment. A teacher whose contract will be suspended shall be notified of such suspension by April 30th but in no event fewer than thirty (30) calendar days prior to the suspension. A copy of the reduction list (name, seniority, and current teaching field) shall be provided to B.E.A. at the same time. After the Board action, the B.E.A. will be promptly provided with an updated recall list.
