CONTRACTOR'S LIABILITY NOT LIMITED BY SUB- CONTRACTORS. Notwithstanding any sub-letting with such approval as aforesaid and notwithstanding that the ENGINEER-I N-CHARGE shall have received copies of any Subcontracts, the contractor shall be and shall remain solely responsible for the quality, proper and expeditious execution of the Contract in all respects as if such sub-letting or Subcontracting had not taken place, and as if such work had been done directly by the CONTRACTOR. The CONTRACTOR shall bear all responsibility for any act or omission on the part of sub-contractors in regard to work to be performed under the CONTRACT.
