Common use of Contractor’s Status Clause in Contracts

Contractor’s Status. 7.1 At all times during the Contract Period, the Contractor shall be an independent contractor and nothing in this Contract shall create a contract of employment, a relationship of agency or partnership or joint venture between the Parties and accordingly neither Party shall be authorised to act in the name of, or on behalf of, or otherwise bind the other Party save as expressly permitted by the terms of this Contract accordingly: a) the Contractor shall not say or do anything that might lead any other Person to believe that the Contractor is acting as the agent of the Authority; and b) the Authority shall not incur any contractual liability to any other Person as a result of anything done by the Contractor in connection with the performance of the Contract.
