Common use of Cost Breakdown Clause in Contracts

Cost Breakdown. When the Modification is proposed, the Contractor shall furnish a complete breakdown of actual costs of both credits and extras, itemizing materials, labor, taxes, overhead and profit. Subcontract work shall be so indicated. All costs must be fully documented. The following limitations shall apply: 1) Limitations Where Contract Price Changes are Involved: (a) Overhead and Profit for the Contractor. The Contractor's overhead and profit on the cost of subcontracts shall be a sum not exceeding ten percent (10%) of such costs. The Contractor's overhead and profit on the costs of work performed by the Contractor shall be a sum not exceeding fifteen percent (15%) of such costs. Overhead and profit shall not be applied to the cost of taxes and insurance by Contractor or Subcontractors or to credits. No processing or similar fees may be charged by the Contractor in connection with the Modification. “Overhead and profit” shall include all plant, equipment rental and repair, project management, field coordination, job site project supervision and indirect labor and materials.
