Common use of Court Duty After Retirement Clause in Contracts

Court Duty After Retirement. An employee who has a pending case at the time of retirement and as a result has a court appearance after the retirement date shall be compensated the same as if still employed by the City in accordance with Article 19 of this Agreement unless the retiree is working for an employer who is already paying for this time. Verification of attendance and time shall be made by the same procedure utilized for employees whose names do not appear on the list maintained by the Court Liaison Officer (i.e. by write in).
