Criteria for Selecting Candidates. In order that all applicants be given equal consideration and in case the number of requests exceeds the limitations, the School Board agrees to use the following criteria in selecting the candidates for sabbatical leave: 1. the merit of the objectives as they relate to improving the instructional program; 2. years of teaching experience in the School District; 3. previous leaves; 4. distribution of applicants by schools; 5. evidence of acceptance of the teacher's program or project by the institution offering the advance study, research, or itinerary;
