Crown Segmentation Clause Samples

Crown Segmentation. An attempt to estimate density using ITOs developed using the crown segmentation methodology described in Appendix D was undertaken. All three resolutions of canopy height model, 3 ft., 6 ft., and 15 ft., were tested, with the 6 ft. model performing best. Individual tree objects identified through this method were counted to estimate stand density, but these counts were a poor predictor of stand density and were less effective than the linear regression model described in the next section. Development of the canopy height models and ITOs was very time consuming.
