Common use of Crown Witness Clause in Contracts

Crown Witness. 27.01 An employee with seniority who is subpoenaed as a Crown Witness shall be reimbursed by the Company for the difference between fees received for so acting (excluding traveling, meals and other expenses) and the wage they would otherwise have received (not in excess of eight (8) hours per day for the first three (3) days they are necessarily required to be absent from work by reason of the foregoing during a calendar year. The foregoing shall not apply to any proceeding between the Company and the Union and/or by persons(s) represented by the Union. The employee shall present proof of service and the amount of fees received to the Company.
