Common use of Declaration and Certification as to Conflict of Interest Clause in Contracts

Declaration and Certification as to Conflict of Interest. Contractor by execution of this Contract declares and certifies that (i) its performance of the Services creates no potential or actual conflict of interest as defined by ORS Chapter 244, for Contractor or any Contractor personnel who will perform Services under this Contract, and (ii) in the event that Contractor or its personnel are either employed by or performing services for the federal government, that no rules or regulations of the agency for which Contractor or its personnel work or are employed prohibit Contractor or its personnel from providing the Services under this Contract. Responsible for Taxes. Contractor is responsible for all federal and state taxes applicable to compensation and other payments paid to Contractor under this Contract and, unless Contractor is subject to backup withholding, Agency will not withhold from such compensation and payments any amount to cover Contractor’s federal or state tax obligations. Contractor is not eligible for any social security, unemployment insurance, or workers’ compensation benefits from compensation or payments paid to Contractor under this Contract, except as a self-employed individual.
