Common use of Defense Base Act Insurance Clause in Contracts

Defense Base Act Insurance. (DBAI)‌ Pursuant to FAR 28.305, DBAI coverage provides workers’ compensation benefits (medical, disability, death) in the event of a work-related injury or illness that occurs outside the United States. DBAI shall be at no direct cost to the GWAC Program; however, if required and approved by an OCO under an individual Task Order, DBAI may be charged as a direct cost to the government.
