Deferment of Grant. (1) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (1) of the foregoing Article, the applicant may ask for grant to take place one year after the filing date of the application if the said application contains an express request to that effect. A person who has requested the benefit of this provision may renounce it at any time within the said period of one year. (2) The same shall apply to any application that is not accompanied by a copy of the documents provided for in paragraphs (1)(d) and (2) of Article 14. (3) The benefit of the foregoing provision may not be claimed by persons who have already availed themselves of the priority periods granted by international treaties, and in particular by Article 4 of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property.
