Definition of Appointments. 1. Upon the relinquishment date, the faculty member is no longer tenured. Any subsequent appointments prior to retirement are for a fixed term. The faculty member is required to complete one year as a fixed term to qualify for relinquishment and will not be approved for more than three years as a fixed term appointment prior to retirement.
