Definition of Dependent The definition of a dependent shall include the domestic partner of an employee and the dependents of such domestic partner. Any employee claiming a domestic partner and/or the dependents of such domestic partner for purposes of this Article shall have an approved City Affidavit of Domestic Partnership form or a registered State of California Declaration of Domestic Partnership form on file in the Employee Benefits Office, Personnel Department, which identifies that individual as the employee’s domestic partner.

Definition of the Parties Without prejudice to Article 49, for the purposes of this Agreement, "the Parties" shall mean the Community, its Member States or the Community and its Member States, within their respective areas of competence, as derived from the Treaty establishing the European Community, on the one hand, and the Andean Community, its Member Countries or the Andean Community and its Member Countries, on the other, in accordance with their respective spheres of competence. Definition of Family Members of the employee's immediate family are defined as the employee's spouse, mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, stepchildren, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, stepparents, grandparents and grandchildren.
Definition of Grievance A grievance shall be defined as any difference arising out of the interpretation, application, administration, or alleged violation of the Collective Agreement.
Definition of Shifts (a) A shift starting on or after 6:00 a.m., but before 9:00 a.m. is a day shift.
Definition of Total Disability Total disability means that the employee is unable, because of sickness or accident, to perform the duties of their regular occupation. This definition applies for the first twenty-four (24) months of payments. After this time, the inability to perform an occupation for which the employee is reasonably fitted by training, education or experience will constitute total disability. It is not required that an employee be confined to home, but they must be under the regular care of a physician.
Definition of a Grievance A grievance is defined as a dispute or disagreement as to the interpretation or application of the specific terms and conditions of this Agreement.
