DEFINITIONS Accidental Injury. A condition which is a direct result of a traumatic bodily injury sustained solely through accidental means from an external force. With respect to injuries to teeth, injuries caused by the act of chewing do not constitute an injury caused by external force. Admission – The period from entry (Admission) into a Hospital or Skilled Nursing Facility or Unit for Inpatient care, until discharge. In counting days of care, the date of entry and the date of discharge are counted as one (1) day.
