Common use of Designated Consumer Price Index Clause in Contracts

Designated Consumer Price Index. The parties agree that the Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI‐U), San Francisco‐Oakland‐San Xxxx category, published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, shall be the basis for all salary increases that are tied to Consumer Price Indexes. When a salary increase is to be based on the CPI‐U, the salary ranges for classifications represented by this MOU shall be adjusted by the percentage of year‐to‐year change in the CPI‐U, San Francisco‐Oakland‐San Xxxx category, reported for the previous twelve (12) months August to August, rounded to the nearest one‐tenth of one percent (1/10%).
