Detective Differential. The pay differential for a Sergeant assigned as a Detective shall be four percent (4%) above the employee's base rate of pay.

Detective Differential. (a) Detective Sergeants and Detective Lieutenants shall receive $1500. per calendar year, over and above the applicable annual salaries, while serving in the Detective Bureau as compensation for the loss of personal time while assigned to on-call status. When called out, the officer will be compensated at one and one half times the officer’s hourly rate.

The Town is not obligated to have any minimum number of officers assigned to a distinct position of “uniformed detective”. There may be zero or multiple uniformed detectives (who shall serve on either the B or C lines, but not on the same shift).
