Determination of Salary Increase. 1. It is the responsibility of the principal to ensure that the teacher understands what constitutes an acceptable level of performance and to advise a teacher when work is below this level. Such advice will be in writing. The teacher shall be made aware of deficiencies by February 1, in order that the teacher may have an opportunity to raise performance to an acceptable level. 2. If a principal, on or before March 15, determines that the quality of the teacher's service does not justify a salary increase and the Superintendent concurs with this report, a salary increase will be denied.
