Displacement or Work Permit Fee. 7.9 The Employer recognizes, acknowledges and agrees that the employment of a non-Member displaces a job or career opportunity for a Member. Therefore, the Employer agrees to remit or pay directly to the Union a displacement or work permit fee of Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00) per day of engagement, or portion thereof. In the case of each non-Canadian Permittee, the Employer agrees to remit or pay directly to the Union a displacement or work permit fee of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per day of engagement or portion thereof. It is recognized and agreed that the permit fees are subject to GST and other like taxes and the Employer agrees to remit any taxes due at the rate prescribed by legislation, together with the fees, without being invoiced by the Union.
