Ecosystem Monitoring and Applied Research. Carrying out a program to strengthen the capacity of the Recipient to conduct ecosystem monitoring and applied research, such program to consist of: (i) development (in coordination with the other Partner States and the EAC) of appropriate scientific and socio-economic data gathering protocols; ecosystem monitoring tools; and data sharing mechanisms for the LVB; and (ii) carrying out priority research related to the management of water, fisheries and land resources with particular focus on transboundary and multi-disciplinary issues affecting the LVB.
