Common use of Eligibility for Seniority Clause in Contracts

Eligibility for Seniority. 1. All employees are eligible to accrue seniority. Seniority for ongoing employees shall be the date of hire. 2. When an auxiliary employee successfully attains ongoing status by virtue of being successful in a job posting, the University will credit the employee the hours worked as an auxiliary employee and backdate the seniority date the appropriate number of days. This clause is effective July 1, 1992, and will not be retroactive. 3. When an auxiliary employee accumulates 560 hours worked, they will attain ongoing status and their seniority date shall be established by crediting the employee one day seniority for each day worked to July 1, 1992.
