EMPLOYEE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. 19.01 Career Growth Opportunities External to the Bargaining Unit
(a) With the prior approval of their Supervisor, and with notice to the Union, an Employee may accept an appointment to a position with the Employer that is external to the Bargaining Unit. “External to the bargaining unit” means external to the Parking and Transit Services bargaining unit.
EMPLOYEE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. The District will annually sponsor up to thirty (30) Washington State clock hours or three (3) credits. Staff wishing college credits may apply for reimbursement through the rules of the tuition incentive program.
EMPLOYEE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. SECTION 1. Both the District and the Union recognize the mutual benefit of facilitating training opportunities that allow the District’s employees to maintain core competencies while promoting vocational growth (professional development) within their current position/rank and beyond. The parties intend this Article to be applicable to all employees both Single and Dual Role in support of the foregoing purpose. The Employer agrees to establish SOG’s for identifying, supporting and implementing various training elements, ensuring a consistent process. Unless the training or education is specifically required as referenced within the CBA, the District may grant or deny an employee’s request for reimbursement as determined by the Fire Chief or designee.
