Common use of Employer Rights Reserved Clause in Contracts

Employer Rights Reserved. Nothing in this Agreement shall be deemed to limit or curtail the Employer in any way in the exercise of its rights, powers and authority, unless and only to the extent that specific provisions of the Agreement curtail or limit such rights, powers and authority. The Union recognizes that the Employer's rights, powers and authority include, but are not limited to, the right to direct and manage the work force, including, by way of illustration, the determination of policies, operations, assignments, schedules, discipline, layoff of employees, purchasing equipment and maintenance of equipment, except as any of these rights are expressly abridged by the provisions of this Agreement.
