Equipment and Property. 1. Any equipment, furniture or supplies or other property purchased pursuant to this Contract is deemed to be the property of the State, except as may otherwise be governed by federal or State laws, rules or regulations or stated in this Contract. 2. Equipment means tangible, nonexpendable, personal property having a useful life of more than one year and an acquisition cost of $5,000 or more per unit. A Contractor may use its own definition of equipment provided that such definition would at least include all equipment defined above. A copy of the property record(s) or equipment inventory report(s) with relevant purchasing and supporting documentation must be made available to DHSES upon request. Property records or equipment inventory reports must be maintained, by award, that include a description of the property, a serial number or other identification number, the source of property, who holds title, the acquisition date, and cost of the property, percentage of federal participation in the cost of the property, the location, use and condition of the property, and any ultimate disposition data including the date of disposal and sale price of the property. The Contractor must document receipt of all applicable equipment purchased with grant funds. A physical inventory of the property must be taken and the results reconciled with the property records at least once every two (2) years. 3.
