Common use of EQUIVALENT Clause in Contracts

EQUIVALENT. BIDS Bidders may offer equipment of the same capability, but of different manufacture and model than that specified in this bid. The use of the name of a Manufacturer, brand, make or catalog designation in specifying items described herein does not restrict Bidders from offering equivalent bids. Such a designation is used to indicate the character, quality and performance equivalence desired. However, acceptance of an equivalent product will be strictly at the discretion of the College. Furthermore, proof and/or demonstration of equivalence, compatibility and performance shall be incumbent upon the Bidder.
