Excess Vacancies. While the ranked list is in place, schools are required to use the list when filling vacancies, except when the number of vacancies exceeds the number of teachers on the ranked list. In that case, schools can fill the excess number of vacancies with new hires upon prior approval of appropriate administrator(s).
