Common use of Extracts Clause in Contracts

Extracts. Extracts may be taken from any BBC/BBC commissioned programmes from any media (that may or may not have already been transmitted) and may be taken from any source other than commercials and commercial audio recordings on payment of the following: Extracts not exceeding 1 minute £12.40 Extracts exceeding 1 minute and up to 5 minutes £23.80 Extracts that criticise or ridicule the artist or are of a sexual nature may only be used with consent of the artist. Extracts from television programmes may be used in radio programmes on payment of the appropriate fee above. Extracts from radio programmes may be used in television programmes on payment of the appropriate fee outlined in the Television Agreement.
