Faculty Program Coordinators. A. Purpose: Faculty coordinators perform specific tasks for a particular administrative unit that are related to the maintenance of quality instruction and program integrity, while maintaining employment status as faculty and adhering to all aspects of this agreement. Faculty program coordinator responsibilities are in addition to professional obligations.

Faculty Program Coordinators. SECTION A. Compensation 1. General Guidelines for Estimating Number of Hours Required to Perform FPC Administrative Duties. Hours required to perform FPC administrative duties are affected by many factors that should be taken into consideration when defining the position for any given FPC unit. Such factors include but are not limited to size of FPC unit, complexity of tasks, and the number of tasks assigned. The following factors and others as determined by the Unit Administrators in consultation with affected faculty can be used to estimate hours: • Number of sections; • Number of faculty; • Volume of student inquiries fielded by the FPC; • Responsibility for equipment management and other supplies; • Number of required consultations to support hiring, observing and mentoring Part-Time faculty; • Coordination with other departments; • Coordination of lecture/lab sequences: • Changing patterns and sequences of course offerings; • Coordination with outside entities; • Responsibilities for writing and managing grants; and, • Responsibilities related to meeting accreditation and licensing requirements 2. General Guidelines for Modes of Compensation. a. Hourly Rate: These duties may vary quarter-to-quarter, but are essential for ongoing operations of the department/program. The Faculty Program Coordinator role may be distributed across multiple individuals with compensation for each individual. The General Hourly Rate of Pay as defined in Appendix A, Article I, Section G shall be offered to compensate these duties when they are estimated to take between one (1) and thirteen (13) hours per quarter.
