Failure to Meet Term of Sabbatical Leave. a. In the event that the program of study agreed upon in the sabbatical leave contract with the District is interrupted by serious accident or illness during the leave and properly verified by a qualifying physician, such interruptions shall not constitute a violation of the contract or prejudice the member against receiving the rights and benefits provided for under the terms of the sabbatical leave.
