False or Fraudulent Statements or Claims. The GRANTEE acknowledges that if it makes a false, fictitious, or fraudulent claim, statement, submission, or certification to the DEPARTMENT in connection with this AGREEMENT, the DEPARTMENT reserves the right to impose on the GRANTEE the penalties of 18 U.S.C. Section 1001, 49 U.S.C. Section 5307, 31 U.S.C. Section 3801, and 49 CFR Part 31, as the DEPARTMENT may deem appropriate. XXXXXXX agrees to include this clause in all state and federal assisted contracts and subcontracts.
