Field Trip Rate. 1.081 Bus drivers shall be paid at the rate of $11.00 per hour while driving field trips and extracurricular runs with no driver receiving less than $33.00 per field trip or extracurricular event. In the event of an overnight trip, drivers will be "off the clock" (not paid for) eight hours. If no driver accepts the field trip or extracurricular event and a substitute cannot be found, then the trip shall be assigned on a rotating reverse seniority basis. If the driver is removed from his/her regular route to take the trip, the field trip will be applicable after his/her regular route time would normally expire.

Field Trip Rate. A regular driver who is assigned a field trip shall be paid at his/her current hourly rate for up to 30 (thirty) minutes preparation time prior to the scheduled loading time, the loading time, and the driving time. Upon arrival at the destination and completing unloading and parking the bus, the driver shall go on layover. Pay for the first 4 hours of layover shall be at the employee's regular rate of pay. All layover time in excess of 4 hours shall be paid at a rate of $10.00 per hour. Employees shall not be compensated for sleep time. The driver will return to regular hourly rate 15 minutes before picking up the students for the return trip and shall be paid that rate through the loading and return including 15 minutes after completing unloading to return to the garage to clean the bus and put it away. All time shall be rounded to the nearest quarter hour with the total paid time not to exceed the total preparation, loading, driving, layover, and cleanup time. Where the field trip is a continuation of a regular daily run, the preparation time will not be paid and where a regular run immediately follows a field trip return, the 15 minutes cleanup and return pay will not be paid. Unless absent for Jury Duty, a driver who is absent for the afternoon portion of their route forfeits any trip they have scheduled for that day.
